Free Club Pulse Check

How healthy is your club?

The Club Pulse Check is a free check-up for club committees that takes about 10 minutes. Score your club across eight areas, see what is going well, and find out where a little support would go a long way.

About 10 minutes. Free. No obligation.

Why it matters

Busy committees rarely get time to step back

Most club committees spend their energy keeping the season running including doing fixtures, finances, volunteers and sending emails. There is rarely a moment to ask how the club is actually tracking. The Club Pulse Check gives you that moment. It is a quick, honest look at your club so you can put limited volunteer time where it will make the biggest difference.

How it works

1. Rate your club Score eight areas from 1 (not yet in place) to 4 (strong and working well). Complete it on your own or as a committee.

2. Spot your priorities Your two lowest scores show where your club needs support most, and why.

3. Take one small step Choose one small action for each priority area that your club can take in the next 30 days.

What you will assess

  4. Finance and Sustainability Knowing where the money comes from and being ready for a tough year.

  5. Members and Community Attracting, welcoming and keeping the members you want.

  6. Facilities and Equipment Facilities and equipment that are fit for purpose, maintained and planned for.

  7. Programs and Pathways Clear pathways for players, coaches and officials to start, develop and stay involved.

Who it is for

The Pulse Check is designed for committee members at community sport clubs, whether you are a president, secretary, treasurer or brand new to the committee. It is especially useful when your club is:

  • Preparing for an AGM or committee handover

  • Starting a strategic plan

  • Getting ready for a grant application

  • Feeling stretched and not sure where to start

Committee tip

Get more from it as a group

Ask each committee member to complete the Pulse Check separately, then compare scores at your next meeting. The areas where you disagree are often where the most useful conversations start.
